Contactless Real Estate Closings, Estate Plans, Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Contactless Real Estate Closings and Estate Planning are now available to Clients in Massachusetts. On April 27, 2020, Governor Baker signed An Act Providing For Virtual Notarization To Address Challenges Related to COVID-19 into law. The new law allows for Massachusetts Attorneys and/or Paralegals of those Attorneys to witness signatures utilizing video technology during the current State of Emergency. Documents that may be able to be witnessed via video are Real Estate Closing Documents, Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Health Care Proxies.
